One story is that a certain con tractor had been here getting esti mates on railroad construction ma terial and that another has been se curing terms from some of the nteamers plying in here on hauling an entire construction outfit to Coos Hay from Sun Francisco.. It is fur ther declared that the contractors are not Soulhern Pacific contractors and that they are figuring on start ing vorlt this fall. No public statement has been made by the Coos Bay and Eastern Electric people nor by the Coos Bay and Boise that would shed any light on the above rumors. One Coos Bay man who has been looking into the matter stated today that ho was positive that a steam line and an electric line will be built di rectly east from Coos Bay in addi tion to the Southern Pacific lino to Eugene.. .Nothing further has been heard from J. P. O'Brien as to the date on which ho may visit Coos Bay. Marshfield Times. , W. E. Bole, a railroad contractor of Spokane, left for his home yes terday, after a several days stay on the Bay. He Insisted that his visit here now was purely on personnl matters and had no railroad signi ficance, but many think thut it had. tO 7 . n a "t ? 506' jyiHamette St. W. H. KAY, Mgr.
