Be sides this, is a good strong dog tax ordinance was passed. The balance of the $10,000 sewer contracts, amounting to some $9,000 was accepted. This marks t'lie com pletion of a splendid sewer system for Springfield. The work has been quickly and well done by the con tractors and satisfaction on all sides has been expressed. . A large number of new sidewalks, several blocks in all, was ordered laid, ln the new addition of the city, especially North 7th street from F. street to the S. B. Hunt addition. In Spring field has incorporated under the name of the Springfield; Realty Com pany and their principal office will be located in Springfield though It is the Intention of the company to maintain offices in Eugene. The company is composed of such men as Mayor M. M. Peery. John Kestlv, A. .1. Perkins. J. V. Machen, C. R. Mead. W. .1. Karnes and II. W. Perkins, a 1 1 successful business men who have large property Interests here and are at the present time ac tively engaged In other businesses, with the exception ot John Kostly, C. R. Mead, and W. J. Barnes, who have been chosen to take charge of the business and will devote tlielr entire time to it. The organization of this company has been hanging fire for the past month, but not until Monday of this week was it perfected and the papers signed up by the Individual members. Tuesday evening a meeting was held and the officers elected for the en suing year as follows: President John Keatly; Vice-President C. R. Mead; Secretary W. J. Barnes; Treasurer, M. M. Peery. The lights that have been placed by the P. K. & K. along the road from tho end of the car line were turned' on last evening for the first time. They are 32's, placed every few hundred feet as far as the bridge and give n good light for one to pick the shallowest mudlioles. There may be a sidewalks along there hoop.
