It is expected the regular enrollment will be increaseu to 700 or 750 next year. The following officers were jlected bv the board of regents: President. Judge It- S. Bean; secretary. L. H. Johnson; treasurer, S. B. Eakm; ex ecutive committee, S. H. Friendly, C. A. Dolph, J. C. Ainsworth. Those present at the meeting were: JudgeCKean, Mr. Friendly. F. V. Hol man, William Smith. I,- i i 1 i-4 GO I I Provision for two more buildings for the University of Oregon at Eu- ggne was made yesterday at the regu lar annual meeting of the board of re gents, held In the office of C. A. Dolph. In the Mohawk t block, The buildings fo be erected are a men's gvninasium and a girls- dormitory. The first will cost $25,000 and the second $15,000, and both. It Is ex pected, will be ready for occupancy by the opening of the next, school year. These Improvements are made pos sible at this time by the accumulation of the regular state appropriation of $125,000 a year which was held up for eighteen months by the" referen dum. It was decided by the regents that after all regular expenses are provided for there will be a balance of $70,000 at their disposal for huilil- ! ings. apparatus and other Improve ments. Besides voting funds for the ' gymnasium and dormitory yesterday lihn rfCHiits set aside $10,000 for books to be added to the library, $10, 000 for apparatus for the various de partments, and other smaller amounts. Construction of the gymnasium and dormitory will begin in the spring. The gymnasium will bo used exel-j-sively by men, and the present gym nasium will be turned over to the li-e of the women.
