GIBSON SON Instead of meeting the University of Oregon next Thanksgiving day, as ha3 been the annual custom of the Multnomah Amateur Athletic Club for the past ten years or more, the club has practically decided to take on the Oregon Agricultural College eleven for that date, says the ure gonian. A conference was held on Monday between representatives of the Multnomah Club and Managers 13. D. Angell, of the Corvallls Insti tution, and while the proposition Is an assured fact, it must be ratified by the board of directors of the Mult nomah Club, which wlU probably be done at a special meeting on the or der of a conference, at which repre-, sentatives of the club and University of Oregon, as well as the Agricultur al College, will be present. The recent game between the Uni 7?rsity of Oregftll il'rtd tfi9 Multno mah Amateur Atlilctle Club, which resulted In considerable adverse crit icism of a member of tno Multno mah team, was th6 last game of .a three-year agreement between the twi institution, The expiration of the agreement was known to the hianagnitsnt of the Oregon Agricul tural College and that institution im mediately opened negotiations to be considered as an applicant for that date. According to the plans of the club, as far as is definitely known at present, the University of Oregon will be asked to enter Into an agree ment to alternate annually with O. A. C. In the Thanksgiving game with Multnomah. If Eugene assents to this agreement, the Oregon eleven will meet . Multnomah here on Thanksgiving in 1910, for Ifnow Is practically settled mat tne "Aggies" will play here with the clubmen in 1909; This surprising arrangement, whlh will startle the football fans 'who had come to look upon the an nual Multnomah-Oregon struggle as a fixed proposition, will afford an op portunity for gossip for many -weeks to come. In tact it ia the biggest football sensation of the season. When questioned about the new ar rangement last night, members of the Multnomah Club admitted that the proposition had been discussed and stated that it would come before a regular board meeting probably with in a week or two, but denied (hat any agreement with O. A. C. had been signed. Manager Angell, of the Corvallis team, also denied that anything definite had been decided upon, but admitted that the pros pects of the Oregon Agricultural Col lege taking the University of Ore gon's place next Thanksgiving day, were exceedingly bright. The clubmen are known to be dis pleased at the criticisms heaped up on a member of their team by Uni versity of Oregon admirers, and say that such action on the part of the student. siiDDorters was uncalled for.
