AT Some question bag arisen as to the relation between the proposed asso ciation and the students' association at the University. The latter has been organized (or several years and has been doing effective work along social and religious lines among the , students. Boras four Or five years ago a movement was started to se cure a student building which would be used for the student association and other student Organisations, such as the SP3 d9u;tln? -octettes, glee club, athletic ""aquarterg, etc. Several, subscriptions were secured, but it was inought.unwlsa to conduct the campaign for sufficient funds to erect the building, And so consent was secured from a number of the subscribers in Eugene to allow their subscriptions to go toward the pur chase of a lot which was to be re pained until such time as it seemed wise to go ahead. Accordingly a lot was purchased at the corner of the campus, costing $1100.00. It is probable that sometime In years to come a student building wltl be erec ted there which will be for the use of all student organisations, and un der the control of the. college Y, M. c. 'a. The building for which funds are now being secured will be erected on the lot on Willamette street be tween Tenth and Eleventh, and will be primarily for the boyB and young men of the town. No doubt many university students whose homes are in the city, and others who may wish to avail themselves of the privilege will be members of the city organiza tion as well as the other. A combina tion membership will doubtless be ar ranged for. It should be borne in mind that the majority of young men in Eugene, between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five are not attendlug the university. If at some tljaa In the future It be cc&ies necessary for a student, bond ing, fund will be raised all over the state for the purpose. Ia OUier CMes. WATTS FOR WATCHES CRIMSON VERSUS BLUE ON GRIDIRON ' BATTLE TOMORROW NSV Haven, Nov. 20 The advance Tuard of an army of thousands of vis iles has reached here, eager and en thusiastic over tomorrow's football game between the Harvard and Yale elevens. The downtown strcVfl are resplendant with the colors of the two big universities, and there are many other outward and visible signs that the great gridiron contest of the year Is at hand. BOtS of tne teams are in quarters awaiting the signal that will call them to vlstory or defeat. Reports are .g the fffeot that all the. -Jers are la'ttCtllSul shape and a spirit of Confidence pervades both camps. Sel dom in recent years have the Harvard men entertained a feeling of greater confidence in the result. The general impression is that tne teams are more evenly balanced this year than usual. Unless all signs are misleading, It will be a game well worth witnessing. The game tomorrow will be the 29th since 1876, in which year Rugby football was introduced at Yale and Harvard. - Of the games played Yale has won 21 and Harvard 3. There have been three tie games. In 1877, 1886, 1888, 1895 and 1896 the teams did not meet. Harvard has not won since 1901, in which year she was vic torious by a score of 22 to 0. Since ttisn H has been, a. continuous string 0! vlns for the Ella.
