The testimony of Robert wits brought out by District Attorney Mo essohn for the purpose of showing the character of the place where Miss Petty was employed. Other testimo ny of the morning was to the effect that the little girls, or at least the older one, had been present with her foster mother In the operating room while the doctors were rt work. One wltnees testified that Miss Petty ad mitted this when examined In the district attorney's office. Roberts, when called to Ihe stnnd, said his wife had lieen a pa tient at the Atwood "hospital." That was about two yoars ago. Irene Hlnton, a nurse nt the hos pital for eight months, testified thai the older child was In the room when the witness' tonsils were removed, and that the child was present during a portion of the time while other op erations were performed. She de clared, however, that the child was sealed on a high chair that was not ill view of the operating table. The oIiJih i of the proceedings Is to have the children permanently taken from the custody of Miss petty. Sev eral witnesses testified that the little girls have not had proper care. The grand Jury visited Ihe Institution about two weeks ago and presented a report that forms the basis of Ihe present trial. Since Ihe exposure of Ihe practices at the hospital the chil dren have been In the care of the Boys' and Girls' Aid Society. worm niwM. Jskn M. T. Dixon. esor lo W. H neddy.
