The people of Port au Prince have revolted against the government and are now in pos session of the city. There has been no fighting with the govern ment troops, and a provisional government has been established. General Ligitime has accepted the presidency of the new admin istration. The deposed president, Nord Alexis, is still at the palace. Members of the diplomatic corps were in conference at 9 o'clock for the purpose of taking measures to facilitate or hasten the de parture of Nord Alexis from the republic. The coup has boon remarkably successful, all the remaining ministers and military officers under Nord Alexis having takon refuge in the various foreign legations. These same men nine months ago were protesting vociferously against granting tho right of refuge to unsuccessful revolutionists by foreign diplo matic and consular representatives. The only man to remain loyal to Aloxis is General Canilllo Gabriel, his nephew, who during the last six months has directed the policy of the Alexis administration. He is at the palaoe with Alexis. At 11 o'clock the palace was surrounded by an infuriated mob calling upon President Alexis to leave the country. Almost every one in the mob is armed.
