Advertisements, Like Clocks,
Should Keep Running
A store's advertisement tell
the people what is "doing" at
that store- what is new. what
Is inviting, why today is u good
time to visit the store. People
look for the ads to tell them
these things just as naturally as
they would look lit a clock to
tell the time.
Sometimes a clock does not
run sometimes a store's ud
does not run. A "run-down"
clock or J are about equally
unsatisfactory, unserviceable,
misleading.
Curious thing about It is that
a merchant wtio would think It
absurd to have a run-down" or
oul-iif-repnlr clock will, some
times, deliberately let his ad
stop running. It's not wise, nor
good business, nor defensible
ou any known grounds but it
is soniciinieg done.
