Dr. Homer I. Keeney was one of
the Portland visitors, and he express
ed his unbounded delisht on learning
that Professor John Straub. of the
Greek department, was to be one of
the Initiates. "I have been waiting
for ten years to pet even," said the
doctor delightedly, with sad remin
iscences of his Greek Yerbs when he
was a student at the University or
Oreeon. And It Is whiBpered that the
young doctor lost no chances. Judge
Lawrence T. Harris, circuit Judge for
the Second district, came in for his
share or honors, and Dr. Llttlefleld.
of Ncwberf. and Dr. Davis, of Al
bany, were also marked men. A
number or the candidates went up on
the special and life was made a bur
den to them.
There were 20R Shrlners who left
Portland Saturday morning, and SO
were picked up enroute to Eugene.
The day was full of excitement, with
iehtseelng throtifhont the day, the
parade at 1 o'clock, following a busi
ness meeting, and the Initiation In
the evening from 8 to 11, when a ban
quet was served In a neighboring hall
during most of the night. This spec

cessful and so much enjoyed that the
Shrlners are planning another for
Ashland in about two months.

Mr. John White, of 38 Highland
avenue, Houlton, Vie., says: "Have
been troubled with a cough every
winter and spring. Last winter I
tried many advertised remedies, but
the cough continued until 1 bought a
BO-cent bottle of Dr. King's New Dis
covery. Before that was half gone
the oough was all gone. This winter
the same happy result has followed;
a few doses once more banished the
anneal cough. I am now convinced
that Dr. Klag'a New Discovery is the
best ef all cough and lung remedies."
