Labor Day was flttingry celebrated here today with a big parade, followed by a mass meeting and sports at West View Park, under the ausnlces of the United Labor League of West ern Pennsylvania. The speakers were P. H. Morrlssey, grand-master of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and ex-Congressman John J. Lentz, of Columbus. 0. San Francisco. Sent. 7. San Fran cisco was given over to the "sturdv sons of toil" today, who paraded streets many thousand strong in cel ebration of Labor Day. The Inter est, owing to pending strikes and wage disputes, was seldom greater than this year, and In the procession were workmen from mearly every trade. The demonstration was the biggest held here In several years. Richmond, Va., Sept. 7. Labor Day was appropriately celebrated here under the auspices of the Cen tral Trades and Labor Council. The scene of the main celebration was Lakeside Park, where a program of sports and festivities was carried out. Addresses by the candidates for the governorship of Virginia also formed a part of the program. Jackson, Miss., Sept. 7. For the first time in its history Labor Day was celebrated In Jackson today. The sports A nri'mii. zatlons were given this afternoon. Washington, D. C, Sept. 7. La bor Day was extensively observed in the national capital today.
