BUY ONLY BROOMS MADE IN EUGENE Eugene needs manufacturers and la advertising for them, but the peo ple will find that there is something else to do to get them than to merely wish for them. The town must sup port them or they will be slow in coming. Now some time ago a broom factorv was established here. The merchants promised that if they would establish such an Industry here they would use their brooms In profere.nce to outside makes. Nevertheless, at the present time they are coming Into the freight, office dally shipments of outside brooms. The local factory supplies all the smaller towns of Lane county Coburg, Springfield, Mapleton and Ulorenco, for instance, using nearly exclusively Eugene brooms. The local merchants cannot be altogether blamed, as they have to supply pub lic demands. The people are to blame. Every housewife should call for and Insist upon a "made in Eu gene" broom, when she buys. This Is the best way to boost. One at first may not see it. hut . nevertheless, these manufacturers will not be too thtse manufacturers will not be too enthusiastic In advising other pros pective capitalists In Investing here when they have not the support of the town. Don't forget, use "made in Eu gene goods. COW FKED. Alfnlfa meal. At Ba!ie7's, Tenth and Willamette streets. Phone Red 1521.
