The Sea Girt range has always been a Mecca for ambi tious marksmen, and this year a pro gram has been arranged which for richness and attractiveness compares favorably with any ever shot. Many of the teams that recently competed at Camp Perry are here. to '.ike part in the various matches. Cuba and the Philippines, In addi tion to nearly all the states, are rep resented. For the first time the rl- fie.i with which the army and the national guard were recently equip ped, together with the new United Slates ammunition, will be used in cnnletB In this country, and the re units will be of Importance in de termining their .value. Tlis most Important match will be fir the Dryden trophy, a magnlfl cen piece of fctronze, presented by ex- Senator Dryden, to be competed for by teams of eight from the same branches of the military service eligi ble to the National Trophy match It Is shot at 200, 600 and 1,000 yards. Tho trophy carries with It cash prizes of from $50 to $150. The Interstate regimental match for the Brlgg3 tro phy, presented by Senator Rrlggs of -New Jersey, will be shot at the same li?'.nnce by teams of six. With this trophy goes a medr.l to each man on ;h winning team, with a cash prize to rhe second, third and fourth teams. The matches oi the New York Silatc Rlflo Association are headed by th company '.earn match at 200, Son nnd 600 yards, open to teams nf l( nr. Another leading event will he' Hie Thurston match, at X00 and 900 yards, open to everybody. The program of the I'nited States Revolver Association comprises four great matches. The first Is the cham piomhip match for any revolver which carries with it the chamnlon- J ship of the United States, together .v. th the championship cup. The second Is the any pistol championship match, also for a silver cu;, and the pistol championship. Thj third is the n'flflary revolver championship match, which carries the " title of champion, and the fourth Is the mili tary revolver match, with unlimited entries. All of these matches are regarded as very difficult, as they require as many as fifty shots and at fitly yards' distance. to buy goodi less than Manufacturer's c0s CLOSING OUT SALE M Wednesday Evening, September the M Remember what remains of the BON MARCHE'S stock be sold to other parties at a great loss, hence wp every article less than manufacturers cost. S;",c Phoenix, Ariz., Sept. 2. Six weeks ago there was a local sensation In the marriage of D. W. Sparks, capi talist, aged 72 years, and Mrs. W. M. Davidson, aged 65. The bride came from Albany, Or., brought by glowing letters that nromlsed a comfortable (home and happiness In her declin ing years. Night before Inst another sensation materialized In the departure of the bride for her former home. She was accompanied as far ns the railway station by Sparks, where she public ly denounced him as miserly and mean, abusive nnd fault-finding. Though preparing to tnke the train she lacked money enough to reach Albany, but the deficiency was quick ly made up by a hurried collection by n policeman at the Southern Pa cific depot. One witness was so In dignant that he threatened personal violence upon HpnrKs, but the desert ed bridegroom made no reply and quieuy nisnppcarcd. Mrs. Sparks dramatically refused her husband's request that she write to him and told him that she would never return, ns she had become tired of living on hot air and promises.
