A gentleman from 1'ortlaud who
returned last night from an automo
bile trip to Foley Springs, told a
(ird representative that there
would be hundreds of auto parties
from the metropolis visiting that re
sort annually if a reasonable amount
of money was spent in improving
the road. He thinks it would not
cost a large sum to clear the stumps
and stones out of the highway, and
and put it in fair shape. He also
estimated that each of these autoists
would spend $100 in the county,
which would mean a large revenue
in the aggregate.

Advertisements, Like Clocks,
Should Keep Running
A store's advertisements tell
the people what is 'doing'' at
that store what is new, what
is inviting, why today is a good
time to visit thf store. People
look for the uds to tell them
these things just as naturally ns
they would look al u clock to
tell the time.
Sometimes a clock does not
run sometimes a store's ad
does not run. A "rim-duwu"
dock or ad are about equally
unsatisfactory, unservlvuublu,
misleading.
Curious thing about it is that
a merchant who would think it
absurd to have a run-down" or
out-of-repalr clock will, some
times, deliberately let his ad
stop running. It's not wise, nor
good busliHss, nor defensible
on any known grounds but It
Is sometimes done.
