The tent occupied by Governor Stu art was blown down, as were a num ber of others. Several friends were anting with Governor Stuart when his Jen collapsed, but the party manag ed to hold the canvas and all escaped lnThenamp Is flooded and telegraph ic service, Is practically cut off. The entire camp Is panic-stricken. The darkness was Impenetrable and the men ran wildly about through rivers of water seeking the injured. Every tent in Battery B was blown down, but no one in the battery was hurt The regiment guard tent of the Tenth regiment was struck by lightning and 40 men of Company C were badly Injured. Field Hospital Full. The field hospital is full and men ary lying about the camp on the ground waiting for aid. The Voung Men's Christian Associ ation tent, which was filled with wo men and children who had taken ref use there during the storm, was raz ed, but so far as known no one was seriously injured. A frightful accident occurred this inoni ; ing In the Leotchbiirg tunnel in the ; Hcrncse Alps, which resulted in the j death of 25 workmen. Without I warning the drills pierced the walls ; of an unknown subterranean river or ! lake and tho wall gave way with a ! crash, a torrent of w ater and mud fil ling the tunnel.
