PRINCE OP WALES ARRIVES AT QUEBEC Quebec, July 22. The battleship Indomitable, flying, the standard of the Prince of Wales, came into this city this afternoon and was greeted with tremendous cannonade from the International fleet of warships and the shouts of 50,000 people crowding the shores and heights of the city. The Indomitable moved slowly to anchorage and the ceremony of wel coming the prince began. The arrival of the prince sent a thrill of enthusiasm through every British heart in Canada, for it is sel dom indeed that a future king of England visits an American colony. Never In its history has picturesque old Quebec presented such a scene of animation as lt did today on the arri val of the royal visitor. Cushman, of the Si uslaw Lumber Company, Acme, re ports that his mill has been idle since last September, being unable to ship regularly on account of the condition of the bar at the mouth of the Sius isw. This plant is owned bv the Wendllng Lumber Company, of San Francisco, and has a cutting capacity of 60,000 feet per day. The compa ny has about nine million feet of logs on hand. Oregon & California Lumber Com pany, Florence, successors to the Hurd Lumber & Navigation Company,- has not operated Its mill rery steadily since last fall. Some local business has been taken care of. Con siderable new equipment is being Installed, Including a ten-foot band, steam kicker, nigger, transfers, live rolls, conveyors, and pneumatic trim mers.
