Firmness prevails in livestock quo tations of all kinds, and Block deal ers are predicting a rontinuance of present conditions for the sea-ion. Most of the fat rattle and sheen ar riving thia week are from the south ern part of the Btate, It being consid ered rather early for prime conditions in Eastern Oregon and Idaho. With the growth of population, the demand for beef, mutton and pork is really in excesB of the supply, of the three states of the Northwest, and farmers must pay more attention to the rais ing of cattle, sheep and hogs In order to furnish the local abatolrs of this city and of Pugct Sound. While the stock Is thug in a measure replen ished, the raiser of livestock is pret ty sure of good prices for all he fur nishes.
