Campbell-Fellmaa Co.'s new base
ball team played a practice game of
four innings with the Crescent team
of this city last evening at Recrea
tion Park and won easily by a score
of 8 to 1. Taa new team showed up
in great shape, and are now praclc-i
ing every evening. Those who have,
seen the team in action say that Eu-,
gene will see the best team ever pre
sented to the fans in this city. '

" KILLED IN IDAHO
Arthur Taliafero died on. June 18
from the effects of an accident on
June 16 at the Sunbeam mine near
Custer, Idaho. While working a huge
rock fell on him, crushing
his ribs. Owing to the Isolation of
the mine the unfortunate man's body
could not be brought out, and word
was not received here until yester
day. He is a son of M. B. Taliafero of
this city. While residing near Sprtng7
field; he became a member- of the
Woodmen of the "World of that
place, of which be was still a mem
ber at tho time of his death. He was
about 41 years of age.
