Both the teachers and pupils are glad to get a vacation and rest after a hard year's work. Our schools stand very. high and the patrons may well feel proud of tne institution. Professor Baughman, assisted by an excellent corps of instructors, has been untiring in his efforts to achieve the best results, and has done that to the satisfaction of all. Owlno- to the exams, the eight grade graduating exercises will not be held tonight, but were postponed until a week from tonight and will be given In the opera house on that date. Eventhough first class baseball. outside of the college games, has not been played on the Eugene diamond this season, It is mighty fine to have base ball games In the city. At this day and age no town Is complete without the national game each sum mer. Citizens gather In a body, ex change good natured greetings, for get their troubles, become excited and find themselves lost to conven tionalities and yelling in a boister ous manner. All of which is good for the individual. It acts as a tonic and has a rejuvenating effect. Men who sit at a desk the whole month through begin to get restless as soon as the baseball season opens. They will sneak away and play hookey from business, worse than the small boy will from his studies. But. af ter all, men are only boys grown tall, and each and everyone loves baseball. KEEP THE BALANCE I P The poet's exclamation: "O Life! I feel thee bounding in my veins," Is a joyous one. Persons that can rare ly or never make It, In honesty to themselves, are among the most un fortunate. They do not live, but ex ist: for to live Implies more than to be. To live Is to be well and strong to arlBe feeling equal to the ordi nary duties of the day, and to retire not overcome by them to feel life hounding In the velnB. A medicine that has made thousands of people, men and women, well and strong, has accomplished a great worK, Destow lng the richest blessings, and that medicine Is Hood's Sarsaparllla. The weak, run-down or debilitated from any couae, should not fall to take It. It builds up the whole system, changes existence Into life, and makes life more abounding. We are glad to say these words In its favor to the readers of our columns. R. C. MOKGAN'9 FURNITURE FACTORY Furniture manufactured for wholesale or retail trade. Satisfac tion guaranteed.
