Monday evening about thirty of
the class of forty pupils of Mrs. Daisy
Dillard Patterson gave a piano reci
tal at her home. 292 East Ninth,
street. The program was beautifully
rendered and every number is worthy

In the article of last week the cor
nea, aqueous humor, and iris were
talked about. This week the focusing
apparatus of the eye will be taken
up.
Just back of the Iris is the cryatal
Ine lens. This la not perfectly round
but is longer than it is wide. It Is
convex on both surfaces, the convex-
thick. It is highly transparent, rath
er soft and very elastic. The lens Is
enclosed In a capsule that Is thin,
transparent, brittle and ellKtic. It Is
made up of one layer upon another
