Schafer, head of the University of Oregon department of history, returned yesterday with his faniilv from a year's travel, research and study In England and Europe. Professor Schafer, while In Englnnd, discovered some valuable historical material concerning the Northwest. Most of the time of . the party was spent In England, though trips were made to Germany and France. Professor Schafer is glad to get back after his absence, and will take up his class work next year.
