Humor mz Philosophy Br DUNCAN M. SMITH THE BRIGHT PROSPECTUS. Alluring, convincing: and all aboveboard The mining prospectus appears. So frank, open faced, that it drives from the mind All doubts and suggestions of fears. The reader perusing the offer can see A promise of profit so great That those .who come In at the earliest call Will fixed be for life from that date. Admitting no failure or possible chance Of not making good-from the start. Of not coining money for those who at once From cash In hand readily part. It comes to the doubter and bids him tako hope And pull ail the cash from hia sock And scrape all his savings from here and from there To purchase the beautiful stock, i To con It tho hypnotized reader would think That If he Invested a dime Twould soon Into large, husky dollars re solve. Grow, bulky in less than no time. And were he to plank down a hundred or moroi He would in a near future date Be fixed independent the rest of his life With money on hand to cremate. That's how the prospectus appears to the eye . With promise of plenty aglow. , I It doesn't turn out In each instance that ! way. ' As some of the wiser ones know.
