W:i:t and William Morri s plications are brought alloc utth the efforts of Jack letup a cm-, vin.e his wife that the niKln pr.vious' to the beginning of the i Jie hud 1 beeu imprisoned In a lot: car on, the Kerris wheel and compelled to1 remain there until morning. When! she refuses to believe him he deter mines that so long as she expects him to lie, lie he will, and he tells her that In point of fact he spent the night at tho home of a friend after they had missed the last car. When she asks the name and address of the friend he manufacturers both. The man's name Is John llrown and he lives In Plckleton-on-the-Thaines. The wife thereupon wires John llrown and asks him to call; husband discovers telegram, confides secret to best friend, who happens In and agrees to Impersonate llrown. This arrangement progresses satisfactor ily until the real llrown appears, and a real .Mrs. Hrown and later It trans pires that the lady who bad beeu locked In the Ferris wheel car with Temple was none other than the wife of his friend. The usual third act explanations clear up the tangle. No farce In recent years has been ac claimed so emphatic a success as this merry message of mirth. A compe tent cast headed by Win. llernard is responsible to a large degree for the enthusiastic reception that this farce is being nightly accorded. A laugh for every minute Is the way the management 1 charneterlr.es this funniaker, and It seems to be tho sen timent of the majority of those who. have witnessed the performance.
