The first baseball same of the sea
son at Springfield was played yes
terday between the homo learn and
Junction City. The game was lim
ited to seven Inning and while
ragged in spots, there was some
very elever plays pulled off that kept
the fana on edge. Miinihy, who
pltehed for the itltjcs, was In good
form, for early season, only allowing
two hits. Nichols, the Junction City
slab artist, was also In Rood form,
and had he had good support the
score would have been muen closer.
When hits were made they were gen
erally for extra bases. Springfield
fans are delighted flth the showing
of their team and promise support
equal to last season. Next Sunday
Albany will probably pluy the lilues.
