Albany Wanted Matlock
( liromvsville Times)
It Is published to the world that
the Albany high school students and
faculty are thoroughly convinced
that they were "deliberately victim
ized" by the two Eugene men who
served as judges on the debate lust
Friday night between the Browns
ville and Albany high schools. Since
they are so out-spoken, it may be
Interesting to stale that Albany en
deavored to secure as one of the
Judges, Mayor Matlock, of Eugene, a
man elected after a red-liot campaign
on a municipal ownership ticket.
Mayor Matlock Is nil enthusiast on
the ownership question. Of course
Brownsville, having the negative, ob
jected to this questionable procedure
ana Albany then selected another
Eugene man. It Is now up to the
faculty of the Albany high school
to state through the press how they
were "deliberately victimized."
