Calloway, and Mrs. J. M. Roberts.

p.m. today with Interment in thej

: conducted by Rev. O. C. Wright, pas-

Mrs. Helene Ohlsen, wife of D. P. 1
, Oblsen, died at her home five miles
west of Eugene Sunday evening, Mayj
12, 1907, at 5 o'clock, after only aj
day's illness. She had been suffering.!
for some time past with paralysis, I
' but had been quite well until she was
taken ill a day or two before,
she died. She was aged 4 7 years and
leaves a husband and eight children,
four boys and four girls. The funer-1
al will be held Tuesday at 10 a. m. '
at the Danish church west of the city,
with interment in the Danish ceme
tery. ! Mrs. Susan Haynejf, wife of Albert
; Haynes, died at Iter home at Kale
Saturday evening, May 1 1. 1907, at
: the age of 35 years of age. Child
birth was the auso of death. She
leaves, besides her husband, eight
children, six hoys and two girls. The
funeral was held this afternoon.
McCormlck's Colts won their third
successive victory at Recreation Park
Sunday afternoon when they defeated
the Roseburg team in a well-played
and Interesting game of baseball.
The score was 9 to 2, but this does
not indicate the relative merits of
the two teams. The game was very
even save for one inning, when Itose
burg went up in the air and the lo
cals chased seven men across the
home plate.
The visitors started the scoring in
the first Inning, when one run was
made. It began to look blue for the
Colts for a while, for they were pil
ing up goose eggs, but in the third
they made two and were one ahead.
Ilosehurg tied the score in the fifth
and it remained that way until the
fatal seventh, when Mathews, the vis
iting slabster, weakened and the lo
cals hit him almost at will. With
With several clean-cut hits and a
number of errors seven runs were
made In that chapter. This ended
the run getting for both teams and
the game closed with some pretty
ball by both sides In the last
two innings.
A good-sized crowd witnessed the
game and Roseburg was cheered al-1
most as much as the home team. The !
