At A I! ill i Included in Plans of Willaire:te ' Valley Co.-ldeal Spot for Such Place Between Butte and River. : Street Cars From Washington; and High Streets The recent sale of the famous Nat Htnrium ut liaise, Idaho, to the liaise Tmctinii Co., controlled by the Uhodes, Sinklei & liutcher syndicate, t lie same people who are tluaiicing the Wilhimetto Valley Co., of this city, limit's to niiiul the fuet that the local compary, when it Hrst begau business in Eugene, announced that among other tilings planned uas the building of a pleasure resort on the buik of the Willamette river back ol Skinner's Hutte. It is not known huw soon the resort will bo built but it is probable within the next two years. As the city grows the people ; ro bound to have some sort of amuse meut place, in fact they need it now, and a pleasure resort lehind the butte, if properly conducted, would seem to exactly 1111 the bill. The Wil lainetto Valley Co. has a fruuehise for ho construction of an electric railway, to the north end of Washington street and to the north cud of High street, aud it is probably the plan to build to the site of t1 e proposed resort from both streets, forming a belt line. The company owns the whole butte. except the MeMurphcy residence prop erty, and the land between it and the i-iver.and there will be no trouble in securing the right-of-way fdi the trolley lino from Washington und High ptrects to the proposed, resort. While pla"s for the resort have not been studied out, it. is presumed that I'utbs will be established, various amusement features Installed and a band hired to furnish mnio. If the city grows as expected no doubt such a pbico as the Oaks nt Portland will be built up. The new owners of the lioieo Katu torinm will expend 10,000 in ininiedi ato improvements.
