COMMITTEES WILL KEET WITH THE COUNCIL IN an Endeavor to Reach an Agreement on Electric Rail-; : way Franchise Four Representatives Each from the Commercial Club and Protective Association to Hold Confer ence With Council At the legular meeting of the Com mercial Club last night the mattor of the city council's granting a street railway franchise was discussed, aud acting upon the suggestion of some of tho members of the council, the club authorized President Whitsou to ap point a committee of four to meet with the council and n like commit too from the Merchants Protoctivo Association to go over tlio proposed franchise together in nil ondeuvor to como to an understanding as to just what kind of a franchise is wanted so that iinmodiato action mny be taken by tho council. President Whitsou bus not yet appointed his committee, but will do so within a short timo. The plan is for tho two committees to meet with tho council a n commit tee of t' e whole before the ad journed meeting next Tuosday uighl and go over tho franchise carofully section by sootiou.
