After wiring tbe operator at Beattle It was found that a mistake bail been made In sending or receiving the mes .age and an "I" had been substituted for an "L." It was then kaown tbat the man killed was Lntber Fisher. No particulars were soot. Mr McPberson tent word to the dead man's mother, Mrs Mary Fisher, at Portland, and it Is probable tbat the body will be brought to Eugene for burial In the family lot In Oak Hill cemetery. The deoeased lived here with his parents many years. He attended the University of Oregon seversl terms and then studied Uw at Ann Arbor for two years. She Expired Suddenly at her Res idence This Morning. Mrs Maria McCornack, a noble pio neer lady of Lane county, died sud denly from heart troubU at ber resi dence, 144 West Seventh street, this tnornlDg about 2 o'olook. She had been complaining of feeling ill for a few days, but it was thought there was nothing aeriouf, and yester day she was feeling much better. Id the night' time ber daughter, Miss Mary, beared her moving about her room and asked ber if she wanted any thing. She replied tbat she did not, but shortly afterward when MIsb Mo Cornack entered the room she found ber mother lying dead across the bed. Thmtfuneral will probably be held Wednesday, but further aunounoe ments will be made later. Maria Eakln MoCornaok was born near Lodonderry, Ireland, Jan 7, 1824. She came to America, in 1838 with ber parents who settled In Kane oouuly, III. In 1842 she married Andrew Mo Cornack. They crossed the plains with ox teams lu 1853 aud settled late In the fall near Ulympla, Washlogtou. In 18S8 they oame to Lane oounty, resid log here ever einoe. Andrew Mo Cornaok, died In 1872.
