cers and their posses in pur
suit of the escaped peniten
tiary convicts Tracey and
Merrill, are batuea in tne
chase, having lost all trace oi
the men.
The bloodhounds, never a
success to any notable extent,
have as little success in track
ing the fugitives as the men.
The militia companies
have been recalled to their
homes. The sheriffs of
Marion and Clackamas coun
ties are still on the hunt
searching for clues, never too
plain since the men dis
appeared in the brush of Mill
Creek near the penitentiary
grounds.

Besides her devoted husband, the de
ceased luly leaves one daughter, Mre
Mary McCullum, who resides live
mllus west of town, and one brother,
LF Mcl'herson, butb of whom were
with her at the time ot death. Besides
there she leaves many warm friends
who deeply sympaib'zs with the sor
rowing husband, daughter and brother.
