Berlin, August 13. The Dowager Empress was buried
beside her husband near Potsdam today. The ceremonies
which were very impressive were largely attended.

Stockholm, Sweden, August 13.- The town of Ears
und, on the shores of the North Sea, was almost wiped out
by fire last night. Twelve hundred people or more are
rendered homeless and there is much suffering.

strike of water front workers and other labor organizations
in this city the coal supply is diminishing rapidly, most of
the bunkers in the city already being empty. , No coal is
being received.
Several cargoes have arrived in port dui none are al
lowed to be discharged.
Retailers have reduced all orders one-nair.

wfire exnloded at Clark's mill this morning for a ioke.' It
created a big excitement for a time, as it was thought there
was trouble with the strikers.
A TRAIN ROBBERY.

Dennison. Texas. August 13. Five desperate men held
up a train near Atoba today with a fusilade of shots. They
searched all the passengers, who were badly frightened,
dynamited the express safes and took the contents. They
held the train for two hours and escaped, but only secured
a few hundred dollars for their trouble.

A RAILROAD WRECK.
Springfield-Woodburn Train Was
Ditched Near Shaw.

Silverton Or, Aug 13. Yesterday
afternoon train No 15 on tbe Wood-
burn-SurlngSeld branch was wrecked
on HorseebC3 Bend, one mile south of
Sbaw station. The wreok was caused
by a defeotlve cuttle guard. No one
was Injured. Both branob trains were
delayed seven hours. The wreck was
cleaned up at 7 p m.
