Leo Broken. IS J Davis, an em
ployee of tbe llootb, Kelly Co, at Mill
No 1, above Saginaw, bad botb lionet
of bis left leg breken between tbe
ankle and knee, this forenoon. He
was standing alongside tbe half-Inch
cable being used on the donkey engine
drawing logs when It suddenly parted
and the end struok his leg with tbe
above result. He was placed on s
atrstober and carried to Saginaw by
fellow workmen just In time to catch
tbe train. Dr Wall, of Cottage Grove,
was sent for and made the man as
comfortable as possible but he oould do
very little as the train arrived In about
two minutes after tbe arrival at Sagi
naw, when he was placed on tbe oars,
brought to Eugene, and conveyed to
the hospital, Dr Wall accompanied
him hero.

"An accident happened out at Sam

in killing a fine horse aud crippling
another. Ed Meats was logging with
the team aud was hitched to a eawlog

The log rolled over the team, killing
one horse ou right and badly bruising
