Next came a well-executed piano duet by Misses Camilla Carroll and Badle Ford, followed by Frank Taylor's oration on ths subject "Japan, a New World Power." Miss Mae Kiusey was next with her oration, "Pavla and Bautlago," then ths High Moliool Glee Club sans "The New Hail Columbia." The club consists of Misses Daisy Gilbert, Cora Wold, Ca milla Carroll, Lillian McElroy. so pranos; Misses Norma Heudricks, Nellie Bmith, Iteba Craig, altcs: eHsrs Edgar Martin, Claude Adams, Chas Aust-u, tenors; Messrs Chester Washburne, Edward Lister, Arthur MoAllstor, baises. Following the Glee Club's eeleotlon the class history was read by Mies Lola Howe and was quite interesting. The subject of Mies Cora Wold's oration was "Ragulus," and It was very well delivered. The Mandolin Ciub then favored the aud ience . with another selection, and Prof Ressler after a few appropriate re marks announced Rev W B Gilbert, ot Portland, who spoke for tbirly min utes In bis usual interesting manner, the address being full of excellent thought aud good advice to the cla-s. Rev Gllbeit baving been one of the school dlicotors of this district at the time of the organization of the Eugene High Bcbool, four years ago, It was eminently appropriate that be should deliver the address to this, the sohool's first graduating olast,. A'ter the ad dress the Glee Club sang another seleoiion which ws followed by the presentation of the dlplomis by Director Eakin. Professor Ressler then made a few remarks touching bis work as suuerinteudeut of the Eugene schc'ls during the past four years and expressing bis regrets on the severance of his couneoiiou with them. Body Found The body of Monroe Calu, who was drowned in the Wil lamette river above Hyland's, Bunday, May 12, was found at noon Thursday of this week about a mile and a quarter below the place where the drowning occurred. The body was found by John Cain and Ola NbjI. It was in a state of decomposition, hav ing been In the water 25 days. It was taken to the Grant Hyland ceme tery for burial.
