Prof E B MoElroy, of Eugene, Ore gon, died yeaterday morning at tbat place. He was a native of West Mid dleton, Pennaylvania. He bad been prominently Identified with the edu cational IntereatB of Oregon for a quar ter of a century, having served tw elve years as state superintendent of public Instruction. During the Civil Wtr he served la a West Virginia regiment, and later in tbe One Hundredth Penn sylvania (Roundhead) regiment. His wile, who survives, was Miss Agues MoFadden, a granddaughter of tbe late Alexander Campbell, tbe great Diaolple preacher aud founder of Bethany, (W Va ) college.
