mated that he is paid $2.60 per speech
aud expenses. He Is dear even at that
figure. Some republicans refused to

friends hope for the recovery of their
sweet little girl.

the old pioneer, who resides across tbe
river from Eugene, passed her 8Sth
birthday Monday. A daughter who
was In town yesterday, when asked as
to tne health of the old lady replied
that when she left home Mrs Harlow
was picking a chicken for Clnner, and
would oook It too.
