drive of logs for the Pulp and Paper
mills ol Oregon City. The legs began
to arrive here yesterday, and It will
probably be several days liefore they
are all by Halem. There are Irom six
to eight million feet In '.his drive of
balm and Cottonwood timber, taken
from the banks of the Kantian), Luokl
auiuts, McKeusle and Willamette
Thesa logs are tut In the aprlng when
the bark will peel oft readily, and are
drawn to the river bank to await the
time for the drive to begin, whloh Is
usually lu July. Tbe limber Is mauu
faotured Into pulp and paper at the
large mills lu Oregon City, There are
about twenty-live men engaged in
driving the logs, and It will be several
weeks before they arrive at their des
tination, at Oregon City.

Bobbins, aged 24, was assisting In
threshing at Joseph. Galea' farm on
Spencer Creek, Buuday, he was caught
by the tumbling rod. Before the horse
power could be stopped he waa com
pletely snipped nil clothing. A duck-
lug coat was toru of his person, and uo
buttons were left ou bis clothing. His
body was bruised until there la hardly
a spot that la not black and blue.
Strange to say the flesh waa not torn
nor any bone broken. It Is not thought
that Mr Bobbins sullerett any Internal
Injury.
