Deputy 'rsecuting Attorney L 1 Harris, of Eugene, was In the city xxl ay at tbe examination of Arthur Williams, a boy of about fifteen years of age, who was arrested here this morning on the charge of breaking iuui a way car. He was discovered by the traiumeu when the train stop ped at Eugene. Two boxes of sboei, which were in tb.car, had been broken Into. Tbe trainmen locked him in tbe car, but be cut a bole In the side of the car, reached through and broke the seal on the door and got out here. He was caught and locked up. At the trial he waived examination and was bound over in the sum of $200 to the October term of court. He was taken to Eugene and placed in the county Jail by Hberift Withers. The Half Cent.
