National Educational Association,
Thla great convention of teachers
will be held at Cbarleeton, Boutn Caro
lina, July 9 t 16. A strong effort will
be made to bring tbe Association to
Portland next year. Prof MoElroy, of
tbls city, and Bupt Bigier of Portland
will leave for tbe East about July 1
and hope to secure tbe attendance of
other active teacher from tbla state.
The meeting held at Loa Angeles last
year, was attended by 16,000 teaobera,
10,000 of them coming from the state
east of the Becky mountain. The
Oregon delegation expects to receive
tbe support of the delegates from the
southern states, and tbe New England
states all of, whom were favorable to
Portland two years ago. Prof MoElroy
will examine into tbe merit of two
or three business oner during hi
eastern trip.
