ing lo the court house at 7:30 o'clock
this evening.

Things Theatrical.
"Have You Seen Smith," at The
Parker oame up t" some of the ad
vance notices of the farce comedy. It
did have more of a plot than the aver
age farce, it is true, but to lie sure the
audlenoe would not get more than
their tickets called for, this was offset
by a dearth of specialties, and as
specialties are the life of farce-comf dy
the play was flat, very flat. The
danoera couldn't dance, and with
possibly one exception the singers
oouldn't sing. While some of the gags
were too young to have whiskers, tbey
made up this deficiency by having
lived their wicked little lives around
Bowery music balls. The audience
was large and It breathed a sigh of
relief when the final curtain rang
down.
The work of Yeringtoo'e orchestra
between acts was the principal failure
of the evening.
Sunday Afternoon Addresses to
Young Men.
On next Sunday afternoon C. Calvert
811100' , pastor of the Baptist church,
will begin a series of addresses to
young men over eighteen and under
forty-five year:- of age. The addresses
will be glVen In ihe Baptist cburcli at
3:30 p m, every Sunday. A short aud
sprightly song service will precede
each address.
The subject for next Sunday's
address will be, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr.
Hyde." Brief extracts from this
masterpiece of Robert Louts Stevenson
will be read during the course of the
address.
