I IN JAIL FOR BEING MARRIED. The husband of Mrs. J. Spencer Middleton, who lives in Camden, N. J is not a murderer, but be will possibly spend bin life in jail for no other cause than being mar ried and that, too, legally. It is now over a year since he was put in prison and although at firsi be hoped his stay behind the bars would be a few days only, hope now bss given way to absolute in difference. The succor tbat would have given him freedom is not forthcoming, and the man, several years over fifty, is reconoiled to bis position. A decree was issued that Middle- ton should pay his wife three dol lars a week and should furnish a bond of two hundred dollars to ee oure the payment. But Middleton had not a cent and not a friend. His father ia wealthy, but had dis approved of his marriage and would not offer him any aid. So the bond was not forthcoming and Middleton went to prison. He haB been there ever since with no pros pect of getting out. Mrs. Middleton is now support nit and educating her two young ohildren, She thinks ber husband is getting what be deserved, She has no pity for him.
