BANQUET TONIGHT.
Formal Dedication of the New Kuoms
of the 1. O. O. K.
Toolitht the new banquet room of
Spencer Butte lodge No. 9, 1. O. O. F.
will be formally dedicated, and the ad
vaooe arrangements iudlcate a very
pleasant time. The new room Is lo
cated on the second floor of the I. O.
O. F. building, baa been handsomely
papered, fitted with cluster! of electric
lights on the oelllng, baa two large and
commodious aide rooms for use as
kitchen and store room, and will easily
accommodate 100 persona at the tables.
The dedication of the hall will occur
after lodge work, or about 0 o'clock.
The banquet room will not be decor
ated, as the lodge desires to show off
its room as it stands, and It will bear
the closest sorutlny. At the close of
the banquet the lodge membership
and Invited guests will again assemble
in the main lodge room on the third
floor and listen to a specially prepared
program, which will be very excellent.
The Odd Fellows have reason to feel
proud of their new banquet room, and
the event of tonight will be one of
much satisfaction to all present.
Invitations have been extended to
all the lodges In Lane county and It Is
known that a large number of visitors
will be in attendance. Other lodges in
Lane oounty are at Cottage Grove,
Hprlngfield, Coburg, Irving, Junotlon,

meeting yesterday eveuing, and trans
acted the business necessary to a suc

er City of Eugene Is due today from
Corvallla. Bhe has aboard a osrgo of
street-car rails, consigned to the Lost
Lake Lumber Company, at Hood
River. The rails will be used in con
struction of a logging road at the com
pany mill. The rail are the last of
the defunat street railway at Corvallls.

summer between the depot and the
hotel, Pa-sengers were few aud far
between, so the line oeased to operate,
and the rails were sold to the Lost

That said receipts were duly Issued
to petitioner and that be Is the owner
of sold wheat. The petitioner avers
the fact to be tbut one W. C. Wash-
burns has taken possession of the
wheat iu Clow's warehouse, claiming
to be a receiver under the Lane county
circuit court. The petition avers that
Wasliburue Is not entitled to posses
sion of the said wheat In the ware
house and is particularly not entitled
to the possesion of this petll loner
wheat; Woshburne claims possession
of this wheat under an appointment
made iu chambers and not in open
court. The petitioner avers that under
the statutes, such appointments must
be made in open court; the petitioner
further avers that under the facts set
forth iu the bill of complaint that said
Wasbhurne is uol entitled to possession
or tne Bam wneat trom the owner
thereof; that the petitioner is willing
aud hereby offers to pay on receipt of
the wheat 5 cents per bushel.
Wherefore petitioner prays leave to
intervene and have the right to be
beard iu attacking the pretended re
ceivership and that tbe court shall ad
judge that mid Woshburne has been
toting without authority and that pe
titioner thereupon shall be permitted
to sleze and take possession of the said
o.ooo bushels or wheat, of whioh he is
the owner, and In cose that there is a
shortage of whe it In said warehouse
and that those parties who left wheat
to be ground or being sold by Robert
Clow, deceased, may be excluded from
the tight to take wheat from the said
warehouse until all the owners of tbe
wheat stored there shall have been
given their wheat iu full, and that In
case 11 shall be found that there Ib not
sufficient wheat in said warehouse to
satisfy tbe demauds of all of tbe
owners thereof who have left it for
storage purely, that then and In
such case, tbls petitioner may be given
his equitable aud rateable proportion
under the same.
Then a motion is made to discharge
receiver, for the reason stated above.
