The haiu consists of DeUaroin, Kock, llorso Ranch, llickerson aud Bruce lakes. Their areas very from one to six acres, the two larger, ilatJarome and Kock, have an area of uve and six acres, respectively, aud the distance between them is one-half to two miles. These lakes gc dry every summer, and leave a crust varyiuif from 1 to It inches in thickness that compares with the best salt in the land. At lake DeGaroni a strata of pure borax anciug from a few inches to several feet iu thickuess lies beneath the salt.
