Tbe forenoon session if '.he Bible Institute held at tbe Congregational cburcb today was a very interesting session. A chords of sixteen voices from tbe Christian associations led the slug. President Newlln gave a very lie.p- ful Bible reading and proceeded dur lng the forenoon. He won bis way at ooce Into tbe blgh esteem of his bearers. His remarks were stimulat ing and full of power. Dean E C Ftandereon save an address on "Tbe Study of tbe Bible by Books." Rev R C Brooks spoke on "Christ In tbe Bible the Authority of the Christian." Tbe thoughts of these addresses were very timely and helpful. The at tendance was unexpectedly large. The afternoon attendance was far larger: tbe session was marked by a deeper interest, and tbe unseen results are certainly greater. Rev R C Brooks gave tbe Bible reading. Rev W S Gilbert spoke on tbe "Qualities of an Ideal Disciple," and to crown it all President Newlln gave a soulstlrrlng address on "Condition of Dlsciple shlp." The sessions of tonight and- tomor row give promise of even greater in terest and profit. Tonight President Newlln speaks on "The Bible" at 7 o'clock in the M E cburoh. Legislative Notes. When a motion was made for third reading of bills in the senate yesterday McClung opposed owing to the bouse being unorganized. Harmon favored tbe resolution. Driver opposed for lack of bouse organization, and moved to adjourn. King stated that he believed tbe passage of tbe bills would be legal. The 14 Woodmen, who ore members of the circle, had been previously ap pointed a committee to furnish lunch for the evening on forfeiture of a fine of 25 cents each. When the time enme for the spread the Woodmen plead excuses and paid their fines. Thev then repaired lo nn outer room where, unknown to the members of the circle, they had stowed away a various as sortment of pies. These they pre pared for use, after w hich they begged a remittance of their lines, which was finally grained after which the nks were brought rorlli and all had a jolly lime until the uilttnicht hour.
