Cigar stores have signs posted up ottering large odds on the republi cun candidate, but people who go there are unable to secure bets. Mr Patrick Maher called at several-of the places Saturday and could find no money. The proprietor of one place which ollered $250 to $100 on McKinley said he had no funds and thai the offer had been made by a customer. He did not know the 'customer's' name. After some haranguing Mr Maher offered $100 to $75 on Bryan, and even then could find no takers. Fnally Mr Maher secured a bet at $100 to $50 that Bryun would carry Oregon, and the taker considered McKlnley's chances in this state so slim that he demanded 3 to 1 before accepting the 2 to 1 bet."
