EA8TKHN OFHICE-ISO to ZM Tamfda Court, Now York City. E. KAIZ, Agent. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13. TUB SUPREME ISSUE. three weeks from today the American people will go to the polls and decido the issues that are now dividing them. The most conspicuous of these issuea, the one about whi'. h thcro is more writing and talking than about all others, ia tho montiy question. "' But im portant as that question is, there is another ol incalculably deeper mwnent to the Republic The su preme iosue before the people is thin: Shall the nation be ruled by its money or by its men? On the one side we have Wm McKinlcy, backed by the concen' tratcd wealth of tho country. Every trust on which class legisla tion in tho interest of tho rich and influential confors the privilege of taxing tho masses for privtito profit; evory syndicato that has made,' or hopos to mako, millions by raiding tho treasury of the United States; every combination of capital that sees gain to itself in the contrac tion of tho currency;" evory rich man who has como to think that the Govornment should be run for tho benefit of himself and othors liko him ovory one ol tho't elements is striving for the euccejffj working by evory moans, fair an foul, for tho oleotion of McKinley On the other side wo have ' V J Bryan, wIiobb only strength his cause nnd himself. His appeal is straight to the peoplo on principles for which be stand Ho asks no quarter from the trusts He defies selfish wealth nnd chal. longes it to exert to the utmost its power to corrupt, to ooorce nnd to confuse the issue by controllng tho voice of the press. Ho begs for no roan's vote who does not think it best for the country to give it to him. Ha urgos the people to study tho question at issue and then vot as their knowlodge directs. His 1b a brave, a frnnk, a rational, a man ly and a truly American appeal. Bryan speaks for the wolfare of of the industrious many; McKinlcy for the welfare of the opulent few. Is there a thoughtful man in the whole United States who docs not know that the greatest danger which is threntoning this Ronub. lio is the steadily growing power of consciencolcss money? Does not evory thoughtful man feel that un Iaba Ka f .. i.l iiv gi i. ui ntmun upon our CJovornment shall bo loosened wo must ultimately have a Republic in namo and an oligarchy in fact? Uliicna equally honest differ sincerely on the currency question Mlver men think tho single gold etanuaru a polont cause of our in dustrial distress; gold men think inai uimctalism would increase rather than lessen that distress, iui noncsi Americans should be agreed in believing that a presiden tial election carried by tho trusts and syndicates, under the leador- snipoi .Mark Hnnnn, would be immcasurally more disastrous and dishonoring to the United Slates than tho rotontion or introduction of any monetary system. Three weeks from today every citiion before he goes to tho bal lot box will, if ho be intelligent and patriotic, ask himself tlm vital aame question: "Shall I vote for government by men, or for government by money?" TUB UOLBISUG'S I'KAYKK. "Our father, who art in England, Rothschild be thy name. Thy kingdom come to America, thy will bodone in iheUuited States us it is done in England. Give us this day bonds th;tt are papable in gold, but not in silver; give us the voteB of laboring men to keep monopo lies in power. We know we have sinned against thee; wo have robbed the honest poor and protected the diBhonest rich. Lead ub not into temptation to help the common people, the farmer and the laborer, and deliver us from 16 to 1; and thus we have the kingdom and the power, gold bonds and interest for over and ever. "I bad lost all hope and Rone to my latnersto aie, -said Mrs. MOMB IJvans, of Mound, Coryell Co., Texas. "I gave birth lo a hnhv a vear airo. the 5th of June last," she adds, "and seemed to do very well for 8 or 9 days, and then 1 began to feel very bad, my feet began to swell, my stomach was all wrong and I seemed to surfer with every thing that could be borne. I was in bed 5 months and there was not a day that it .;Mavntfi:I "... J." p seemed 1 coulu live. We bad the best doctors that our country afforded. I was a skeleton. Kvery one that saw me thought that 1 would never get well. I had palpita tion and pnln in the heart, terrible pain in my right side just under the ribs, terrible lieadachea all the time ; a bearing down sensation j a distressed feeling in my stom. ach all the time ; could hardly eat anything and it looked as if I would starve. All the time I would take such weak trembling spells, and it seemed as if I could not stand It. There were six doctors treating me when I commenced taking your medicine. 1 had lost all hope and gone to my father's to die. I commenced taking Dr. Pierce'. Golden Medical Discovery aud Ills 'Fa vorite Prescription ' together, and I took them regularly until I felt n if life was worth living again." "I weigh more than I have weighed for UVMATkftTOfW ner hurt me since. I can eat anything 1 want and as much at I want.
