The pa per first started January 1, 1895, and has been a fair local paper and worked faithfully for tho upbuild ing of Kugeno and Lano county. However, the field was too limited for tho support of two daily pnpers, and tho Gl'aiui having been estab lished for a number of yours and completely filling tho field, it nat urally compelled tho younger paper to retire. This paper will continue to give all the city and county news on the day of its occurrence, and will uce every endeavor for the best inter cats of the city and county. The circulation of the Daily Gcakd has increased steadily from the day of its first issue, June 8, 1891, and therefore has become valuable to our business men as an advertising medium. It is only by constant, careful and hard work that a daily paper can bo made to exist in a city of this size.
