This silver dec laration is absolutely meaningless, as it can be construed to suit any shade of opinion in regard to silver. It will doubtless bo followed by similar utter uiiccn in other state conventions of the republican party in the central North west and in tho East. The influences which will predominate at the St Louis convention may be expected to procure the same character of utter ance in tho national platform. But il will not fool the silver republicans any more. They have twice before been hoodwinked into accepting an evasive declaration on silver lu the national platform, but it is not believed the rarae game can be played on them three tunes lu succession, the re publicans In national convention must toe me mam. 'mere is no getting away from It. They must come ou lor silver or against It."
