Bok inquiring why bo many girls seem to prefer the company of young fellows of slightly blotted oharanter men who have seen the world and in many cases marry thorn, in face of the fact that their past lives are known to them. In the January issue of The Ladies' Home Journal Mr. Bok, its editor, makes this reply: "Girls, that in, the rifflit kind of girls, do not prefer tho company of young men of this sort. Doubt less, you have come acroBs instances where this rule lias been otherwise; bo have I. But it is all in seem ing, and not in the reality. De pend upon ono thing: girls have as high an estimate of purity in man as men have of purity in woman. There aro, of courso, cafes to the contrary, but these are few.
