Hardly had the recent Eugene anonymous letter writing been dis posed of.for the present, before another case comes to light aid Is now In' the hands of the postal and U. S. authori ties, who were.and remain so mystified ab nit the McKenney-Berger letters. This time It Is a respectable young lady of Eugene who has been the re cipient of the offensive and abusive missives. Tbey bear the postmark of Isabel, a small country postofflce In the Mohawk valley sixteen miles northeasterly from Eugene, but from all appearances do not seem to have any connection with the former letter writing episode. As there are probably less than one hundred persons, who receive mail at Isabel, it is likely the offender will be promptly caught. A New Company. Ed Russell, the tramp, wha broke into a residence near Irving, and was sentenced to one year's Imprisonment In the penlten Mary by Judge Fullerton, , was ta ken to Salem on this morning's local train by Sheriff Johnson and Virgil Rowland, guard. He seemed to be glad tn exchange Jail life for the pen Released. Young Edy and Hyde, the two boys who have been confined in the county Jail for the past 12 days for stealing eggs, were today at noen released, having served out the full amount of their fines, $25 each. They naturally feel elated over their release. Their experience has probably taught them a lesson. The Woman Vote. A count of the poll books shows that 150 women voted at the school eleotion .Monday. As 692 votes were.cast, the women cast over one-fourth of the total vote. Oue who gave the subject some attention says the women were more earnest than the men for the person of their choice. Notice.
