The Eugene public school football team returned borne yesterday morn ing from Drain in a contented and well satisfied frame of mind, and well tbey might with the score iu tbelr favor at a rate of 18 to 0. The gentle men who accompained the team stated it was oue of the cleanest games it has been their good fortune to witness. The boys are loud Ju praise of the hospitality of the professors and stud ents of the Drain normal school, aud will hold in their memory only pleas ant thoughts of the kindness shown them. Tbey were met at the train by a large crowd of students and the college band and were escorted to the dormitory, which was their home while in Drain. An oyster supper was tendered the boys to which they did full Justice with an appetite born by hard practice combined with a healthy physique. We don't know as we ought to say so, bu t the boys all unite in declaring thtft there are more pretty girls to the square foot in Drain than any town they have ever been in before' Additional Locals. At Junction City, January 10, 1805, J. A. Parker, aged 76 years. He was one of the early Lane county pioneers, and at one time resided in tills city. He leaves a wife to mourn bis death.
