FRIDAV. - DEC. 21, 1894 KOHTEK'H KOKECaSTS. Prof. Foster's last bulletin gave forecasts of the storm wave to cross the continent from the 16th to the 20th, and the next, which was due in Japan about December 8th, will reach tho Pauiflo coast near the Columbia river about the 20th, cross the western mountains by the close of tho 21st, the Missouri val ley and upper lakes the 23d, Ohio valloy, east Gulf and lower lakes tho 24th, Eastern stales the 25th, and Newfoundland tho 2Gth. The path of this storm center will lio along the northern border of tho United States causing un usually warm weather all over the country preceding and during the disturbance, only moderately cool weather following. Rainfall from this disturbance will bo limited to small areas and excessive evapora-1 tion will cause drouth in many parts of the country. Better rains may boexpectod from the next dis tuibnnce. A warm wave will owes the western mountain country about tho 20th, the groat central valleys about the 23d, and the Eastern Btatoa about tho 21th. A cool wave will cross tho wostern mountains about the 23d tho great central valloys about the 25th and tho Eastern states about the 27th. The forecasts of a dry November liavo been wondorfully verified, not more than half of the usual amount of rain having fallen during tho past month. . . L i Rural Northwest: The ox peri tuonts which were recently made in California seems to Indicate that both the Porkini procoss and tho Carbonio aold gus system are superior to the old method of re frigoration by ice in transporting fresh fruit. It is oluimod for both of tho new processus that they will prove cheaper than re frigeration and that fruit can be shipped after it is riponcd and that it will roach its destination in such uuiimvion as w Keep won. It wo can send ripo fruit to the East safely it will bring about a great increase in tho consumption of Coast fruit. Roacburg Plaindoalor; Corno rations, as well as republics, are ungrateful. And there are no ex ocpuoiii to tho rule. During tho great A. R. U. strike lost July all oi ma conductors and engineers on tho S. P. lines in Oregon remained loadlast to the interests of tho company, aud their efforts, no doubt, aided tho oompany greatly In winuing tho fight. . Now the company announce a very material reduction in the wages of all em ployes, including engineers and conductors. It is quite likely that no serious objections will be made gainst the reduotiou, at the result of the A. R. U. strike caused so much dissatisfaction in labor circles that it will be impossible to ever gain inaugurate a successful rail road strike. Tho railway corpora tions now have tho master hand, and they stand no show of losing it, at least during the present gen eration. Tho Ashland Record is to blame for tho following item: Judge E. C. Bronaugh, tho great jurist of i oruanu, was in court at Jackson villo this session. Judge Bronaugh il a very intellectual aud respected Christian citizen, who interprets the calamities befalling the peo ple of late, as in line with the destruction of the earth and the! second coming of Christ within the next seven yeurs. He has contrib uted a nuiuber of very aUe and clear articles on that theme to cur rent literaturo, and belongs to that sect in Portland. . Judge Bronaugh is also very wealthy in this world's goods. Atone of their meetings a poor devil in the denomination roasted the judge's unnliriotiun like attitude in holding so mueh prop erty while countless millions were starving. The judge was tuken back, but said he would look upj the scriptures and give a scriptural j reply at the next meeting, which he did by (lulling out of the scrip turo the passage, "Occupy until I come. " I've a secret In my heart, Sweet Marie, A tale I would Impart, Bweet Marie: If you'd even fairer bo Vuu must always use Purlin' Tea The Improvement you will sec, Sweet Marie. Hold by A. Ykrinoton.
